Former US President Barack Obama gave Amherst 15 minutes of fame when he visited Ziggy's in July 2012. Three years later, that number jumped to 100 minutes when the movie The Bronze premiered at Sundance.

You remember filming for The Bronze. It ran three weeks in July of 2014, so there wasn't a ton of time to rub shoulders with the actors, crew, or director unless you were one of the lucky Amherst extras. But even so, 6 A-listers and 3 Olympic athletes stayed in your town, and just like you, these stars ate at Ziggy's, Cedar, and Quarry Cafe, drove Park Avenue to work, and walked the grounds of Steele High School.

While The Bronze wasn't a smashing success like other irreverent sports comedies, it did get a nomination for the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and some love from a handful of critics. And one thing's for sure: Amherst sure acted its heart out.
