First Man (film)

The Girl in the Spider’s Web (film)

Brief Synopsis: A sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl in the Spider’s Web is based on the fourth book in the Millennium series. A computer hacker (Lisbeth Salander) finds herself caught in a web of spies as she attempts to rescue and avenge abused women.

Mary, Queen of Scots (film)

Brief Synopsis: Mary, Queen of Scots is a controversial depiction of the relationship between Queen Mary of Scotland and her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I of England. This movie focuses on a meeting between Mary and Elizabeth and the fallout that follows as Mary attempts to overthrow her cousin and take the English throne. However, historians have found this story to be problematic, stating that evidence exists that the meeting between Mary and Elizabeth never took place and that Mary did not have a Scottish accent—along with other inaccuracies.

The Black Hand (film)

Book it’s based on: The Black Hand: The Epic War Between a Brilliant Detective and the Deadliest Secret Society in American History by Stephan Talty

Brief Synopsis: Based on the gripping Stephan Talty novel, The Black Hand focuses on the rise of insurrection and lawlessness in New York City in 1903, when a group of Italian immigrants began wreaking havoc, leaving only their infamous calling card—a black hand—at the scene of their crimes. Joseph Petrosino, an Italian detective for the NYPD known as “The Italian Sherlock Holmes,” sets out on a quest to capture members of the syndicate and bring order to New York.

Nightflyers (TV Series)

Brief Synopsis: In the year 2093, a group of scientists board the Nightflyer, the most technologically advanced spaceship ever built, to find and study mysterious life forms on the edge of the solar system. However, the most dangerous part of their journey is not in space itself, it’s on their spaceship. The crew must fight to survive when something on the ship begins to kill them off one by one.

Lord of the Rings (TV Series)

Brief Synopsis: At this point, details regarding the upcoming series based on Tolkien’s classic novels are not much more than rumors. However, it seems clear that the series will attempt to create something new without doing a complete remake. It’s been rumored that the series will be a prequel to The Lord of The Rings films, which means the plot could include anything from an introduction to young Aragorn to the tale of the birth of the Mines of Moria.
