"I have enjoyed the network itself and not had any problems thus far with connectivity. However, there are some serious problems with the registration process. Because Dish can be bundled with a variety of internet providers, and because some Dish representatives are pure salespeople not working for the company, there is the potential for a lot of errors in the registration process and price quoting. I was quoted many different prices for my services, and I am still unsure of what I am supposed to be paying monthly. I have had to make numerous service calls to remedy the issues and bundle or unbundle services, and never once have the requests been executed correctly. Unfortunately, all cable providers are pretty terrible in this sense and Dish is the best of the worst."

"So far I love my new dish service. The whole home DVR has way more functionality than Direct TV. Customer service was great throughout the process and the installation tech was very friendly and gave me great tips. I love how I can set the guide to only show channels I own, so I can elimate a ton of scrolling. I also love that I can use apps like facebook and Pandora on the unit. I love music on Saturday morning and this makes it super easy to listen to what I want. So far I have no complaints and I am recommending it to all of my friends."

"My box has gotten stuck and had to be unplugged and restarted. The first time this happened, all of my folders for my DVR recordings were then disconnected with their scheduled items (all items went into the un-named folder). I reset all scheduled recordings and specified their folders and saved the settings (seemingly successfully) but all shows are still being dumped into the same folder - unnamed -- all named folders remain empty. I also don't like not having a simple list and giant icons that only fit 3 to a row and 6 or 9 on the screen, a LIST format would be so much easier to navigate, especially since we only have ONE folder (instead of the albeit limiting five named ones). An ability to also view the list by name OR by date would be helpful, especially since the un-named folder will have to always contain so many recordings. Also I was told the reliability of the DISH was much better than before as my HUGE hesitation was that reception would go out every time it rained. So the first time it rained (only a SLIGHTLY heavy shower) I had no reception at all. Disappointing. Other than that it's alright."

"The service itself is fine so far but the customer service is another story. I have never been so unhappy and frustrated by any other company's customer service. First of all, I decided to join Direct TV at the recommendation of my neighbor so that we both could get $100 off our bill. I thought the bundling package I was offered, $60 a month for two DVRs bundled with AT andT was a great deal. However, the day I signed up I wasted three hours on the phone between Direct TV and their "bundling specialist". It was truly the most frustrating experience I have had in quite a while. They sent a technician out the very next day to install everything. He was very rushed and kept taking phone calls so teaching me how to use the system didn't go very smoothly. You could tell he just tried hard to get through my installation as fast as he could in order to get to the next one. A few days later I received an email from ATandT stating they didn't have service in my area. So now aim locked into a two year contract not getting my $60 deal and I still do not have Internet. I am not a happy customer at all, but I haven't dared call back for fear I would have to deal with another long phone call filled with incompetence and frustration."
