"I love the DVR. I love that if I am watching live tv and I have to answer the door/phone I can just pause. I don't miss a thing. I also love that I can record two shows at once. I also really like that I can see what my kids are watching in the other room with a click of the remote. The channel package I have is just right for me. If I had to pick a down side it is that the low price isn't locked in for 2 years even though my contract is. I would recommend DISH to anyone. It is the way to go!"

"I truly enjoy our new Dish service. We love the Hopper and all the features that come with it. The one concern I have is the Joey. It seems to not get the same signal as the Hopper and likes to cut out. We have called Dish about it and have not received a response. I hope the Hopper does not act up because the delay in service is not ideal."

"The perks for a new customer are amazing. The cost of dish is fairly inexpensive, and I love the new Hopper that allows me to record shows and still have the ability to watch live tv while those shows are recording. I also love that prime time shows are automatically recorded, and I do not have to worry about deleting them because they are automatically deleted eight days later. The Hopper feature that skips commercials for you is pretty sweet, too. On the other hand, existing dish customers get the shaft. While the cost of dish is low for a new customer, the price increases the longer you are with dish. If you are an existing customer, getting the Hopper is very pricey. Dish is also not kind to those who cancel their service. I am happy with dish now, being a new customer, but I do not know how happy I will be in the future when they offer new features that will be too expensive to get, on top of my large monthly bill."

"We had DirecTV for over 5 years. We were loyal customers, never miss a payment, never consider something else. Our bill with Directv when from $51 to $92 for the same package. For the last 6 months, I had to call to find out why and ask for my discounts. Now with Dish I get 30 more channels for half the price. About the quality being better because of more HD channels! I had double the HD Channels now with Dish than with Directv. Finally the customer service and the professionalism of the installer and tellers, way better than I was ever treated in Directv. "We have had Dish for 2 weeks and have loved it! I don't normally rant and rave about a product, but the difference in ability between Dish and DirecTV is staggering. I love how much space my Hopper has on it. I have more shows on it than I had on my DirecTVbox and I only have used 25% of the space. The guide scrolls so quickly. The tiles allow for my young children to find their shows by picture. I like the ability to be able to watch part of my show in one room and finish it in another. When I saw the commercials for that feature I thought, "I can honestly say that I have never needed that feature." It's amazing how much I use it now that I have the option. PrimeTime Anytime takes some getting used to, but I've had the chance to watch shows that I've never had room to record. DirecTV calls me just about every day and begs me to come back, but honestly, I'm not even tempted. I was also pleasantly surprised to see picture-in-picture available to use as well. I don't love the appearance of the guide, maybe it is because it's all in gray. In a big huge nutshell, I love my new Dish service."

"I called to have Dish installed, because of my job, i had to call and postpone the instalation for saturday night. he told me that there was no time available for saturday or sunday. so i told him to cancell the installation until further notice. he told me that for that he had to cancel the whole order. i told him not to, because i didnt want to spend another 45 min. on the phone. he preceded to inform me that the order had been cancelled. I told him that i had just told him not to, and he said that there's nothing he could do. I asked to talk to a supervisor, he identified himself as Jose. He told me that he had reschedule my appointment for next Sunday. When I call to verify, they told me that I was not in the system, and that I should call the branch or retailer I had contacted originally, which is the same phone number. I was lied to and i am very disapointed. I still want Dish service, but im very afraid of your costumer service not being honest. Please send me information of a retailer that I can deal with face to face, so I wont get the run around. "

"ok so far. there was a problem with the joey, it was replaced within a couple of days from install. new joey doing the same thing, have to call back. no manual to read up on using remote features and navigating the on demand stuff, my installer was very good but spoke very broken english and was hard to understand so i didn't ask alot of questions. some things i was told i would get free for a short time for signing up i didn't get and a rep. tried to sell them to me during a call back. the price is good up front, we'll see in the future. hope it ends up better than the other guys i used to be with."
