"The price of cable and cable Internet kept going up. I locked into a 2 year contract with one year price lock. The value compared to the channels you get for the price on cable is great! The hopper DVD with sling is awesome, no setup to mess with, just connect it to you home Internet connction and setup you mydish account. I was skepticle about the signal in the ohio snow and airplane overheard but I've had very few times where I picture breakup and that was a big storm! Great service so far, would recommend. Cory"

Doing that was a horrible experience, and as soon as we could, we made the switch back to, Dish Network. "We have had dish for 2 weeks now. The high definition picture quality is very nice however i wish someone would have been upfront enough to clarify that standard definition for a second tv is so poor that we can not bear to watch a show for more than 5 minutes. It is safe to say that a home recorded vcr tape from the 1980'S may very well have a better Picture. I will upgrading to a joey soon needless to say . It has to be costly for dish to upgrade every time someone realizes that (standard definition) has very low standards. The response time for installation was excellent as well as the installers well very able and professional."

"Think that Dish was the BEST THING that I did. Other cable providers do not care about you or the service that they provide. But with Dish they do care and have answered all questions and provided help with everything that I have asked. I have NOT had any problems with tiling or service being interuped because of signal problems or because of the weather. They also have GREAT movies choices not the same old thing like cable. DISH was the BEST THING THAT I DID. The installers were VERY NICE and did a very GREAT JOB even working in the rain. They did not make a mess in my yard or comming into the house. Answered all questions and showed all things and explained everything to were you could understand. Not just had me a book and said just read it like the cable company did... THANKS DISH."

"Overall the experieince has been good. There were a couple of issues with installation that did not go as smoothly as expected. Permanent mount of dish ground pedestal discovered some problems with the initial setup. Also getting a wireless connection for final setup of Hopper receiver was not successful (had to run a line). I was also disappointed and confused with the initial plan and setup. I had "contacted" DISH through the link provided on the Frontier telephone website, since I was interested in a package (Internet, Phone and DISH). I found oout only later (from Frontier) that I had not gotten the plan they were offering. They undertook coordinating with DSIH to get the plan transitioned correctly. I find the quality of the reception and clearness of the menus with DISH to be very good and user friendly. I've enjoyed the Hopper and flexibility it offers that I did not have previously. My only frustration has been not being able to "turn-off" Prime Time recording but having to go through and delete all the programs I do not wish to have recorded from the DVR. These issues are what lead to the 3 star rating. If it were picture quality and Hopper only, my rating would be 5 stars (excepting the Prime Time issue). Regards, Mike Schubert"

Turns out there are only a few television channels that actually have shows or movies tht play I'm quite discouraged at the amount of overwhelming infomercial channels that I have. "So far I have been extremely un-impressed with DISH. My service is still not hooked up correctly, not all my tv's are working, and now I am receiving emails and phone calls asking for equipment to be returned! I am debating if it might be easier to switch back to cable. The extra cost alleviates the headaches I am currently getting from DISH. "I was very frustrated with the customer service I received on the phone when I had a concern about what channels I was suppose to receive. There was a mix up in my order and that I was repeatedly told that I was not in a bundle with frontier (which I was) and that I contacted Dish for my services . I had originally set up everything through the Frontier line. Basically I was told by Dish that I needed to contact the third party that set me up to get the matter cleared up. In the end I spoke with Frontier and they contacted you while I was on the phone to clarify it. The service man that hooked up my service was very nice and professional and pretty much the only positive part of my review."
