"Have been back with Dish for about a month now and it has been a very pleasant homecoming. Better reception and clarity of HD is great. Channel selection is very broad with reasonable selections available. Rain does not seem to be as big a problem with reception. Install was quick and easy, preformed by competent techs, Jim was exceptional, programmed controls even for the Bose on the Hopper control, neat! "so far so great. overall i'm very happy i made the switch from cable but like anything new there is an adjustment. i miss having a clock on the box. i guess that's not such a big problem! lol. there has been a few times of picture freeze or delay but not an unacceptable amount especially against the vast number of hours i'm now able to dvr. i'm a sports/news junky but work alot of hours. being able to record and speed past commericals or too the fourth quarter of a game has been amazingly fun and saved my hours! also, i work at my computer so i love being able to watch a seinfeld off my computer during a quick break. since i'm a transplanted new yorker in new orleans i'm totally geeked to finally watch ALL my beloved football giants games on the nfl package in the fall. GO G-MEN!!!! "

"I asked the person who signed me up to be honest with me and tell me what problems he hears frequently because I always heard it goes out when it rains. Well go figure it rained one day and not even bad and it cuts out. When the guy installed my cable he cut my neighbors cable. Someone else have to come out. It's just been not good to be honest "

"I like because my monthly bill is lower than the other cable network providers. The technician that come out are very nice. Costomer service is good they help save me money when making changes. I rate dish service at four star's cause the only thiing I dislike is I can't see the news if I miss it and when we have bad weather it interrupt the service but not for a long period of time just a few minutes so I can live with that. "I just got my bill for my first month plus turn on fees and it is over $200 so this seems a little steep. I hope that the $100 gift card can go towards paying a bill, because the only other problem I've had is that I'm not allowed to rent any of the movies on demand in the guide menus. Also, most companies with TV like this, have an ON DEMAND section like Comcast and a few others that have popular shows pre recorded that can be viewed at anytime without using the DVR. These are my only few problems. Also during storms the reception has gone out a few times."
