The sweet song of True Blood

25 August, 2009

Ever wondered who croons that sweet song at the opening of HBO’s hit series, “True Blood”?

The raspy, folksy voice may be reminiscent of Chris Isaak (for those of us who remember back to the 80’s) but guess again.

The singer/songwriter of the haunting theme song “Bad Things” is in fact Jace Everett. True Blood’s creator, Alan Ball, came across Everett’s work via an iiTunes play list and was impressed enough to track down the artist and secure the song’s rights as his show’s opening tune.

True Blood’s ever-growing popularity has fanned the flames of Jace’s own success, leading a new band of enthusiasts to check out his current album, “Red Revelations.”
