Madonna's Romanian Faux Pas

In some countries, they don’t appreciate stars making political statements. Madonna learned that the hard way while performing in Bucharest, Romania.

The crowd of 60,000 went from cheering wildly to booing and jeering when Madonna made a statement against the discrimination faced by gypsies or Roma. Though the situation she spoke against is very real, Madonna is an outsider with no credibility outside of the music she sings. Apparently, making loads of money and knowing how to perform does not qualify you to make social/cultural statements in countries outside of the U.S.

Maybe we could learn something from the Romanians.
