Katie Reyes' Game-winning Hit

Great news! 13-year-old Katie Reyes cracked a two-RBI single Tuesday afternoon, lifting Canada to a 14-13 win over Germany in the Little League World Series.

The not-so-great news? Reyes is only the fifteenth girl to play in the LLWS since 1984. According to me this is a travesty. In my Little League days our teams were coed and super competitive. I hope the press Reyes is receiving motivates young girls everywhere to step up to the plate and take a major league swing. Oh, and not for nothing, she also snagged the game's final out at first base to ensure her immortality.
