DISH Network to Launch Slingbox Technology
The Slingbox may be exactly what DISH Network needs to push ahead of DIRECTV in customer count. Are you familiar with this up-and-coming device? The Slingbox HD DVR made its debut at the Consumer Electronics show in January, and will be sold as the ‘ViP922.’ The Slingbox will allow customers to watch saved recordings on a variety of devices, including iPhones, laptops, BlackBerry units and any other Internet-ready product.
Among the features of Dish Network’s ‘Slingloaded’ DVR, subscribers will be able to access content from anywhere using ‘place shifting technology.’ Customers can watch TV in airports, hotel rooms, and etc. Other features of the ViP922 include:

• RSS feeds offer instant access to breaking news
• Touchpad remote control upgrade
• Broadband, satellite and OTA (Over the Air) tuners
• Loads MP3 files and photos for easy sharing

• Supports 1080p high definition resolution
