Colorado-based Dish Network and the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) will visit Dallas to discuss the digital transition. Representatives from the satellite TV company will show consumers how to set up a DTV converter box, and the FCC will provide additional information about the transition from analog to digital TV.
In addition, Dish Network will provide DTV converter boxes to individuals with a valid voucher from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), valued at $40. Converter boxes will not be for sale at this event.
The DTV information session will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, located at 2922 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Dallas, Texas. The event begins Friday at 8 a.m., and runs through Saturday afternoon.
If you are currently receiving TV programming over the air, you will need to find a digital solution by June 12, 2009. Consumers can choose between three DTV options: 1.)
