DISH Network and Comcast Join Forces

Working with A&E Network, DISH will be providing The Beast in high-definition, comparable to Blu-Ray quality, to customers with an MPEG-4 HD DVR receiver.
SlingLoaded wins Consumer Electronics Show
Developed exclusively for DISH Network, EchoStar’s SlingLoaded 922 HD DVR has been presented with a “Best of CES (Consumer Electronics Show)” award. SlingLoaded is the world’s first high definition digital video recorder that utilizes placeshifting, a Sling Media patented technology.
DISH Network Brings Back KTKA
KTKA, an ABC affiliate, owned by Sunflower, is once again on DISH Network for the Topeka market. It was taken off after a money dispute, and is just now returning after January 1st. Sunflower is in turned owned by The World Company, and was unable to transmit KTKA until an agreement could be reached.
DISH Network Ciel II Satellite Launched
The Ciel II, of the Ciel Satellite Group in Canada, successfully launched into space by being carried on the International Launch Services (ILS) Proton M/Breeze M launch vehicle. This launch occurred from Kazakhstan, from the Baikonur Coxmodrome on Wednesday.
