Coach of the year! Stallings pays for team trip

Just when I'm bound and determined to believe the almighty dollar is the true end-game in sports today; that no more knights in shining armor exist, something gratifying happens to remind me I've become far too pessimistic. When recent budgetary shortfalls at Vanderbilt University put the kibosh on an already-scheduled five game road trip to Australia for its men's basketball team, Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings just had to go and do the remarkable. He paid for the trip by foregoing a $100,000 salary raise. Talk about fair dinkum. Props to you coach Stallings, you're already Coach of the Year.
