Who says celebrity and kindness can’t coexist? There may be plenty of evidence that stardom brings out the worst in some folks, but if we search hard enough, we find a few people who remain humble in spite of their fame.
Shia LaBeouf, appearing on The Today Show this summer, was introduced to fan on air. While the meeting with the young lady, Samantha, could have been uncomfortable or rushed (many celebs would have offered an autograph, then waited for security to usher the fan off stage), Shia was gracious, kind and engaging. He even invited the young woman to spend the day with him. He behaved like a gentleman and a genuinely nice person.
Sean Lennon, son of the late John Lennon and Yoko Ono, has also been dubbed as one of the most humble celebs around. I don’t know of anything he’s every really done, but humility is a good thing.
Stars Angelina Jolie and Jessica Simpson have both been recognized for their work with and kindness to children. No matter what you may think of them as performers, it’s impossible to deny their use of celeb status for good.
