ESPN Sports Analyst Steve Phillips Needs Self-Analysis: Affair With Hundley Leads To Suspension

21 October, 2009

Maybe ESPN will be in the market for a new analyst? Steve Phillips, former Mets GM, may want to consider some serious self-analysis, as his most recent affair leads to another job suspension. No doubt the news will make headlines on DISH Network's sports coverage today.

The serial philanderer once again took liberties with another young staff member, resulting in his current suspension and potential firing from ESPN. The same ‘problem’ caused Phillips’ release from the Mets’ organization. He’d had an affair with Mets employee Rosa Rodriguez in 1998.

Brazen ESPN production assistant, 22-year old Brooke Hundley, apparently made her illicit liaison with Phillips, age 47, known to wife Marni. Reports suggest Hundley may have even harassed one of the couple’s young sons. The girl’s been around the production block in more ways than one, with stints at HBO, ABC, and NBC Sports.

Brooke Hundley once wrote to her dean at Ithaca College, “You only get one chance to shine, so make sure you’re ready for it.” Apparently this ambitious youngster, taking her cues from another infamous intern by the name of Lewinski, is just about ready for anything.

Phillips had better ready himself with a competent attorney. Marni has filed for divorce and his career with ESPN is on the line (very possibly the firing line). Some folks say that what people do in their private lives is their private business. That very well may be, but people devoid of reasonable values or any degree of self-control had best keep themselves out of the public limelight.

Two new, action-packed high-def PPV sports networks will hit the airwaves with Dish Network TV. TeamHD will offer insight into the big-ticket, previously untelevised NBA games, while GameHD will be dedicated to showing NHL hockey as well as Major League Baseball. No more need to try and get last minute tickets from scalpers or imagine the action while listening to the radio. You’ll feel like you can access courtside seats throughout the season -- at a fraction of the cost!

Linked into Dish Network’s NBA League Pass, TeamHD will let basketball fans enjoy even more of their favorite team’s fast-paced action. The new GameHD channel ties into Dish Network TV’s NHL Center Ice as well as the popular MLB Extra Innings baseball packages.

Television techies will appreciate the fact that the new network’s signals will be compressed along with the existing HD PPV channel, thus taking up the bandwidth of just one HD channel.
