You've Been Chopped!
If you haven't seen Chopped! Tuesday nights on Food Network, then do yourself a favor and set your DISH Network DVR for next Tuesday and check out this excellent elimination show with $10,000 up for grabs each week.
Host Ted Allen, and a panel of three judges from the culinary world, judge an appetizer, entrée, and dessert dish from 4 chefs. The chef who produces the least appealing dish is immediately eliminated before moving onto the next round (or course). By the dessert round only two chefs are standing.
The competition is judged on overall presentation, taste, use of the mandatory ingredients, and creativity. The last chef standing not only wins some instant name recognition and prestige, but a big fat check for $10,000, as well.
Food Network Nighttime has become a favorite in our house, and if you like cooking shows, or are simply looking for a break from crime dramas, police procedurals, or sitcoms, give Food Network Nighttime a try. It's already there as part of your DISH Network package!
Celebrity Romances Fit For More than the Movies
It’s not uncommon that celebrities who meet on set sometimes end up in a relationship. Now whether or not they last is a different story. So who are some of the Hollywood actors and actresses that have met onscreen and come out as a couple? Here are just a few of the steamy on-set romances.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith and six kids later (three adopted and three of their own) are still going strong both in their careers and as an item.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth starred in The Last Song, the new film based off the novel by Nicholas Sparks. The duo has been a hot item since filming wrapped up last summer. Miley Cyrus is, of course, super popular as a singer/actress and well known for being Hannah Montana. Liam Hemsworth is the heartthrob of many salivating teens now, who knows how long this one will last!
Of course we have the ongoing rumors and speculation of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, the two mega-stars of the Twilight movies. The two, who denied their relationship at first, may now be taking it to the next level. Just today, rumors have spread that they might be moving in together.
There are many others that have met and are still going strong. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr., Courtney Cox and David Arquette, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, and perhaps the most romantically successful couple, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett are all celebrity loves that have lasted.
To see all of these stars, check out movies On Demand from DISH Network and the movies that set off these on-set romances.
Former Poison Front-Man, Bret Michaels, Hospitalized
Former Poison’s front man, Bret Michaels, was rushed to a hospital after complaining about an excruciating headache which turned out to be a massive subarachnoid brain hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem). Michaels had slurred speech, blurred vision, and many of the signs of a brain hemorrhage. The celebrity remains at an undisclosed hospital in critical condition.
Bret Michaels has had his fair share of being rushed to the hospital in the past month. On April 12th he underwent an emergency appendectomy in San Antonio, Texas. Michaels also has diabetes which has been known for quite some time now, and doctors are trying to figure out if the brain hemorrhage is linked to either his diabetes or the recent appendectomy.
Michaels donated all money raised during his appearance on Celebrity Apprentice to the American Diabetes Association. As one of the seven remaining in the competition, he hopes to healthy enough to return for its May 23rd finale.
