Lakers And Celtics Play A Very Strange Game 6

16 June, 2010

Two of the highest scoring teams in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, played a very strange game in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Neither team reached 90 points, and one didn't even reach 70!

If you would have told me the final score in Game 6 of the NBA Finals was going to be 89-67, it's likely I would have called you a liar, or told you there was still one period left to play, or even asked you to take a field sobriety test.

In each quarter at least one team didn't reach the 20-point mark, and in the 4th neither team did. Boston had no player score more than 20 points, and only Kobe Bryant did so for the Lakers with 26. Perhaps 27 turnovers had something to do with this barn-burner! Oh, and before I forget, the Lakers won the game, which means there will be a deciding Game 7 in Los Angeles on Thursday.

It's a good thing DISH Network has made things very exciting with FREE HD for LIFE! Catch all of your favorite NBA teams, even if they go on a scoring famine, in the most life-like high definition in the industry!

Shrek Forever After A Hit At The Box Office

11 June, 2010

Shrek Forever After has been a major hit at the box office for the past three weeks. It continues to hold the number one movie in North America with over $25.3 million in ticket sales. It is truly some great entertainment for the whole family.

This final chapter in the Shrek saga brings in some new characters such as Rumpelstiltskin, the Pied Piper, who serves as a bounty hunter, many new ogres, and witches galore.

Rumpelstiltskin, the evil little troll of a man, slyly talks Shrek into trading a day of his life away for a day to be his old ogre-ish self after Shrek has had enough of his mundane, non ogre-ish life. This leads to many crazy events such as Donkey never meeting Shrek, Fiona saving herself from the dragon's lair, Puss and Boots as a chubby, over-fed cat, and Rumpelstiltskin as the king of Far Far Away.

You'll get some good belly laughs out of this final installment of Shrek. You'll be able to enjoy even more belly laughs with the other Shrek movies on DISH Network, and make it even better with HD TV. Experience the swamp and crazy dysfunctional fairy tales in high definition. It'll definitely entertain you.

World Cup Soccer Broadcast in High Definition on DISH Network

10 June, 2010

Soccer – football to many around the world – is hands down the most popular sport on the planet. The 2006 World Cup broadcast from Germany was the most extensively broadcasted sporting event in history. 376 channels around the world aired the games, compared to only 232 back in 2002. That was a total of 43,600 broadcasts across 214 countries and territories. If that's not impressive enough, in 2006 it is estimated that a cumulative total of 24.2 billion people watched the games, including 2.1 billion tuned in to the final match that saw Italy beat France on penalty kicks after playing to a 1-1 tie in regulation.

What's amazing about all of this is the 2010 World Cup from South Africa is expected to beat all of these numbers, and depending on the two teams in the final match could set an all-time record for the most people simultaneously watching a sporting event around the globe. Talk about finding some common ground!

Soccer's popularity is no real surprise. When you boil it right down to the heart of the matter, the only thing required to play soccer is a ball and some willing participants. It can be played in a street with garbage cans set up as goals, or on a playground, or in a dirt field, or literally anywhere with a flat surface conducive to the sport. I've even seen people playing soccer inside warehouses, in airplane hangars, and on the roofs of buildings.

No expensive shoes, or pads, and helmets. A ball, and it doesn't even have to be a regulation soccer ball. I've seen soccer played with kick balls, volleyballs, tether balls, homemade balls made from tape and plastic bags, etc. Everything else can be improvised because in its purest form, soccer comes down to the guy with the ball trying to get it past the goalie. That's a concept that can be unfurled on just about any surface.

The games in South Africa get underway Friday when the host country opens against Mexico. Later that day Uruguay will host France. The United States will get underway on Saturday when they host world powerhouse England.

You can catch all the exciting matches on DISH Network, which is incredible considering the recent developments at DISH Network. Oh? You haven't heard? Check this out. What Would You Do For Free HD For Life?

9 June, 2010

So, check this out. A dude out in Oregon ran 102 miles in his bare feet. This is no Fred Flintstone super marathon story. This was a legit world-record run.

Todd Ragsdale, dude who did all this barefoot running, enjoyed a refreshing and cooling peppermint mineral foot soak while relaxing at home Monday. Between 8:00am Saturday, and 8:00am Sunday, the 41-year-old trotted, jogged, ran, power walked, sauntered, moseyed, and probably staggered 102 miles barefoot – that's 413 laps around the South Medford High School track.

If I were to tell you he did it to win free HD for life from DISH Network you might just believe someone would do that to get the most HD channels in the premium home television industry. Heck, some of you might even think that's a sweet deal. I wouldn't blame you if you did.

Truth is, however, free HD for life from DISH Network is a real deal for everyone, and all you have to do is make the call and sign up today. That's as many as 120 free channels - FOR LIFE - from DISH Network HD.

You can run 102 miles barefoot of you want, and I'm sure the good people at DISH Network would be quite impressed, but honestly it's not required to get free HD for life. It just feels like it should be.
