Another Katy Perry Power Hit

27 August, 2009

Singer Katy Perry has shown everyone that a little female attitude has not gone out of style, it’s just showing itself in a new way. From kissing a girl to acting both hot and cold, being just a touch risqué has gotten her everywhere.

Her latest single is no exception. With lyrics like, “Why are these lights so bright? Did we get hitched last night? Dressed up like Elvis. Why am I wearing your class ring? . . . That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas.” I think Perry is on her way to another, tongue-in-cheek, female power hit.

A Steady Rain - 2 Hollywood hunks take the stage

26 August, 2009

"A Steady Rain" is a Broadway play that will launch on September 29th this fall. And I don't know about you, but a play that stars Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig in the same night LIVE; you can bet I'll be trying to get out there to see it! It makes me wonder if some people will actually be going for the play or just for the eye candy. I truly appreciate the arts and entertainment, but who couldn't help but to be mesmerized by the beauty of these men. And what was that play about again?

What TO wear - affordable fashion

26 August, 2009

Are you a fan of TLC’s What Not to Wear? If you’re not already a regular watcher, be sure to check it out and in no time you will be.

The program (which airs on Friday evenings at assorted times from 6 p.m. until midnight) offers an endless array of fun and realistic fashion tips from style gurus Stacy London and Clinton Kelly.

One aspect of the program that may be out of line with most people’s real-life budgets is the 5k credit card bestowed upon the show’s participants. Most of us could easily take the fashionistas’ advice and update our wardrobes with $500 (or less) via a trip to any one of the assorted budget-conscious retailers.

There’s no reason to let your attire become worn out or outdated. You can dress up without wearing down your finances; just pay attention to the terrific ideas from TLC’s stylish team and take that inspiration to your favorite, affordable stores.

Kate minus one - reality TV mom on Larry King Live

26 August, 2009

Kate Gosselin, recipient of one of this century’s BEST ever makeovers and media darling of the moment, was last night featured on Larry King Live. Despite the love of on-camera attention that one might assume when anyone decides to allow television cameras to capture their daily life, Gosselin is remarkably condiderate and impressively private when it comes to dishing dirt on the details of the unfortunate divorce and its sordid details.

Kate stated that she is, “…looking more toward the future and the decisions of today that affect tomorrow, more so than he [estranged hubby Jon] is." No doubt all the cash that rolls in while the cameras keep rolling will help comfortably finance that future (or at least bank roll the therapy the kids may need after very publically enduring the collapse of their family).

Funny man Robin Williams - back on HBO

26 August, 2009

The fun, frenetic comedy of Robin Williams will once again grace the airwaves as HBO features his routine, “Weapons of mass destruction” later this year. His upcoming performance at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington DC will be recorded for HBO and is slated to air in December 2009.

The comedian’s tour was temporarily put on hold this past spring due to health complications, but is starting up again as of September ’09. This will be the first time in seven years that Williams’ stand up work has been made available to television audiences. Definitely something to look forward to!
