Paying for college is no easy task these days, that’s why USDish.com wants to help. They have two different scholarship opportunities to help students pay for some of their schooling. So, how does a student take a shot at these financial freebies? Take a look at the brief descriptions below to find out, and follow the links provided for further information.
Have you ever been watching one of your favorite TV shows and thought, “I bet this character would make an awesome roommate!” Who would you choose to room with during college? Would it be Kramer from “Seinfeld,” Joey from “Friends,” Carrie from “Sex and the City,” or a different character all together? That is the idea behind the first scholarship option, choose a character from one of your favorite TV shows and tell USDish.com about why you would want them to be your college roommate. Students must submit a 300-500 word article by December 21, 2013 to be considered.
For the second scholarship opportunity, USDish.com would like students to consider the question “what are the TV and entertainment industries doing to reach the Latino community?” The Latino population has been growing by leaps and bounds for a while now, and the entertainment industry is seeking to establish a real connection with them. What efforts have the TV and entertainment industries made to appeal to the Latino viewing segment? Students are instructed to submit a 300-500 word article exploring this question by December 21, 2013 to be considered.
